How we handle numbers
Every figure we publish gets attributed to a named source with a date, or it does not get published. Where an estimate comes from an interested party - a trade association, a vendor, a firm with a position - we say so, because a sourced estimate and a measurement are different things.
Where the data does not support a conclusion, we print that instead of rounding into confidence.
How this site is funded
Advertising, through Google AdSense. Ad units are labelled and separated from editorial content. Advertisers have no input into what we cover or what we conclude, and we do not sell coverage.
If we add affiliate links or sponsored placements later, they will be disclosed on the page they appear on, not buried here.
What we will not do
- Health claims. We do not claim any product treats, prevents, or cures anything. Neither should the products.
- Legal advice. We describe the regulatory landscape. Where the stakes are real, retain a lawyer in your jurisdiction.
- Unsourced statistics. See above.
Corrections
We correct errors and mark the correction rather than quietly editing. If you find something wrong, tell us - particularly on regulatory detail, which changes faster than any publication schedule.
